Helping people regain control of their lives
Recently the London School of Economics (LSE) published the results of a lengthy study into the impact of depression, anxiety and stress on the economy, and the effect these have on the lives of people affected. They found that:
We are not talking about the 'worried well'. We are talking about people whose lives are crippled by their stress and we know that anyone can be affected, but it's worse if you're on a low income. — LSE
1 in 6 people will experience a mental illness and it accounts for 1/3 of all disability. It can be devastating to not only the individual but who may be involved, through family break ups or lost jobs. If people don't get help, then they are out of work longer and are at greater risk of long-term illness.
Chiltern Counselling can, for a worthwhile investment of money and time, help a person affected by depression, anxiety or stress to regain control of their lives instead of becoming a long-term statistic.
