- looking for more meaning or fulfilment in life
- coping with change
- wanting to come to terms with painful experiences from the past
- trying to overcome feelings of emptiness and isolation

It can be a great relief and a source of strength to:- share these difficulties in confidence with a trained and skilled Counsellor

What Happens Then?
An initial meeting will be offered to discuss your needs. You will be asked to confirm this by returning a payment.
If after the first meeting it is agreed that counselling is the most appropriate form of help for you, arrangements will be made for you to meet your own Counsellor at our Centre in Chesham for regular 50 minute sessions.
Together you and your Counsellor will negotiate the work including a planned ending.
Who are the Counsellors?
All our Counsellors have completed three years of training in psychodynamic counselling, or are in year 2 or 3 of their training, and continue with on-going professional development. Each Counsellor issupported by a professional Supervisor.
As an Accredited organisational member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy we are bound by its Code of Ethics and Practice.
How Much Will it Cost?
We aim to maintain the self-financing, non-profit making service that enables us to offer help to as many people as possible. Every client is expected to pay according to means.
However, the fee that you will pay is negotiated at the outset with your Counsellor.
Continuity is very important in the counselling process, and your Counsellor makes a commitment to provide a regular time each week that s/he will hold and keep for you until the counselling concludes. In recognition of the commitment that both parties make to this process and to maintain the continuity, the session will be held throughout the ongoing work and the weekly fee will normally be payable whether or not you are able to attend.
